At some point as my visual work was exploring more of its performance aspects, I came to see studio visits and critiques as an opportunity with an intimate unexpecting audience. Nothing is as it seems. Often I would incorporate side narratives and props that weren't meant to be the main focal point of the visit or work being discussed, but could leave a lasting impression. Shown here are two of my more memorable props. A fake finger splint and what appears to be a deodorant stick but is actually filled with frozen white cake icing.

Playing up the part of the overworked, underslept student coming off another all-nighter... I would be sure to be seen applying deodorant that I happened to have lying around in my studio to freshen up before a critque. Realizing that my breath could also benefit from a freshening up, I would then appear to take bites out of the same deodorant that I had just applied...
